Olmec Steel
Founded in 2011, Olmec Steel earned its place in the Cape Town market the unglamorous way: quality work at fair prices, on jobs of every size. We’ve built four-tier structural mezzanine floors for warehouses and we’ve made single burglar bars for a bedroom window. Both got measured properly, built properly and installed properly.
In-house steel design, fabrication & installation
We run our own design and technical department, so every project starts with proper CAD drawings rather than a sketch on a napkin. Our workshop in Saxenburg Park, Blackheath does the fabrication, and our own installation and erecting teams handle the site work. That matters more than it sounds. When the people who drew it also build it and install it, problems get caught early and nobody blames a subcontractor.

to the rest of Africa
Most of our work is in the Western Cape, but our structural projects travel. We design and manufacture complete steel structures for export across the continent, packed into containers with every bolt accounted for, and where needed we send our own teams to erect them on site, as we’ve done in Zambia. We serve clients in Namibia, Mozambique, Angola, Zambia, the DRC, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria and Ghana, and if your project sits somewhere else on the map, talk to us.
